Van Draper

Van Draper is an enthusiastic partner at Elliott Bay Yacht Sales. While his love of the water began as a boy in Texas, it was here in the Pacific Northwest that he discovered the joy of voyaging. To satisfy his competitive nature early on, he raced both powerboats (APBA Class B) and sailboats (Snipes, Hobie Cats and J/24s). His first cruising boat was a Nordic 44 sailboat he sailed with friends to California, but when it came time to entice wife Nancy to sea he bought the 60’ Alan Warwick designed cold-molded passagemaker Blaze. After Van and Nancy had had enough of crossing oceans, they traded Blaze for a power boat, and have enjoyed a succession of motor yachts, with the most well-known being a Hatteras 58 Islander and the Hatteras 43 Hattitude.
